### **History and Physical Structure**

The museum is located in the historic city center of Adana, on the west bank of the Seyhan River. It was established through the restoration of the sixth and seventh parcels of a row of adjoining traditional mansions. Although the building has undergone various repairs, it retains its original architectural features. The restoration was carried out by the Adana Metropolitan Municipality. The museum opened to visitors on September 23, 2011.

### **Museum Layout and Sections**

Housed in an old Adana residence, the museum consists of two floors. The ground floor exhibits cinema posters. On the upper floor, there is a room dedicated to the film artist Yılmaz Güney. This room contains a wax statue of Yılmaz Güney, posters of his films, photographs, film equipment, and letters he wrote from prison. Other rooms introduce artists such as painter and filmmaker Abidin Dino, and writers Yaşar Kemal and Orhan Kemal. The historical process of the Altın Koza Film Festival is also explained. The museum includes a cinema library, which contains 3,500 books donated by film historian Alberto Modiano, with the oldest dating back to 1891.

### **Thematic Rooms**

The museum is organized into rooms based on their functions. These include the Nostalgia Room, Yılmaz Güney Room, Mehmet Baltacı Collection Room, Travel Room, New Generation Artists Room, Adana Producers Room, Altın Koza Room, and Adana Artists Room.

### **Collection and Exhibits**

The museum’s collection features Turkish cinema posters, film equipment, photographs of actors, awards, and interview transcripts. The wax statues in the museum were created by Jale Kuşan and Tülay Aktaş. The museum is notable for systematically exhibiting documents and objects related to [Adana’s cinema history](/en/detay/adana-sinema-muzesi-cda2a/llms.txt).
