Yalova City Museum is an urban museum located in Cumhuriyet Square at the center of Yalova Province, aiming to document the historical, cultural, social and economic development of the city. The museum seeks to strengthen the preservation of the city’s memory and its transmission to future generations by establishing connections between the past and the present.

The Yalova City Museum is housed in a building reconstructed on the site of the original Yalova Government Mansion, which was constructed between 1908 and 1913 and demolished in 1968. The reconstruction was carried out in accordance with restoration and reconstruction projects approved in 2010 by the Kocaeli Regional Board for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, preserving the original architectural identity. The museum building was completed through the collaboration of the Yalova Governorship, Yalova Municipality and Yalova City Council, and opened to the public on 15 May 2013.

The museum is a two-story structure. The Yalova City Museum serves as a cultural hub for both individual visitors and student groups. In 2017, the museum welcomed over 30,000 visitors and organized 23 temporary exhibitions, which attracted 12,567 attendees. November recorded the highest number of visitors with 2,742, and among the visitors were 254 foreign nationals.
